After leaving the corporate world to dedicate time to her young child, Phindile Zama embarked on a journey of creative exploration. With a passion for artistry and a need for flexibility, Phindile discovered her niche in designing handmade bead earrings. In just nine months, she has transformed a personal endeavor into a burgeoning business. MaP’s earrings, known for their unique designs and meticulous craftsmanship, reflect both her artistic vision and commitment to quality. As a new player in the market, Phindile continues to innovate and refine her products, embracing the challenges and rewards of her entrepreneurial path. Her story exemplifies the resilience and creativity of women in business, especially in the arts.
Sthembile Ngcobo (Exhibitor)
Sthembile is a vibrant and creative woman with a passion for crocheting colorful hats and bags. By day, she thrives in my corporate role, but as soon as the clock strikes four, she transform into a crafting enthusiast, dedicating her afternoon hours and weekends to her beloved hobby. Sthembile finds joy in selecting bright yarns and experimenting with different patterns, turning her inspirations into unique handmade accessories. Her creations not only bring warmth and style to those who wear them but also reflec her cheerful personality. Sthembile hopes to share love for crochet with others and inspire fellow crafters to embrace their creativity.
Nompilo Gumede (Speaker)
Known as “The PowerHouse” by the women she has impacted. She was appointed CEO of Woman In Business in July 2022, by March 2023 she was fully immersed in her entrepreneurial journey with Canva Business Solutions. As a Woman In Business CEO she hosts monthly coffee and conver via zoom to empower the members. She hosts in person events every second month with the help of her exceptional team. Nompilo was appointed as a mentor at the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) in April 2023. Nompilo also serves on the iThemba projects finance committee. Nandi Ngcobo (Exhibitor)
An intense interior designer of residential and commercial spaces since 2006, Nandi strives to design unique, signature interiors that will elevate the quality of her client’s living and working environments. With more than 13 years of spatial planning experience, she possesses an innate ability to create and design signauture interiors that restore, exude and ignite. With an eye for quality and a intrinsic passion for African inspired design, Nandi has developed and founded L’afrique Living. The L’afrique edge is centred upon the desire to bodly express African patterns, motif and styling in contemporary interior design and product design.

Thabisile Khambula is the founder of First Class Business Support Services. They are virtual assistants, and they provide administrative support to small businesses and NPOs by taking care of the daily back-end tasks that take them away from focusing on their passion and making a profit. Nokwazi Mkhize (Exhibitor)
Tailor made by Kwazi is a small business that makes ladies wear, we do custome made dresses that are beautiful and unique. Dresses such as traditional wedding dresses, membeso dress ,graduation dresses, 21st birthday dresses and lastly dresses for any event . We are a Brand that always ensure to deliver what the customer wants, as in most cases we try to do not copy other designs by doing our very own designs for our customers. The production process of making the dresses usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. We are available in all our social media platforms such as TikTok, instagram, facebook and WhatsApp we are Tailor made by Kwazi .
Nontobeko Phungula (Exhibitor)
Nontobeko Phungula is the founder of Qlean Aqua, purified spring water (amanzi esphethu) from KwaMnyandu, Pietermaritzburg. With the problem of water scarcity, unhygienic water for consumption, Nontobeko uses high quality equipment and a trusted water filtration system to purify and supply water to households, events, private and public institutions.
Nongcebo Charity Mthembu (Exhibitor)
Nongcebo is an Entrepreneur based in Pietermaritzburg. She is a Director of 3 companies namely; N C Mthethwa & Associates, a boutique law firm based in Pietermaritzburg, Emma’s Catering and Events, a catering company and Emma Creations which sells and hires out beads and traditional attires. She was born in Ndulinde, a rural village in Mandeni in northern KwaZulu-Natal. She has always wanted to be an entrepreneur from childhood but she was not brave enough to start a business until Covid-19 happened. In 2020 she was working as a Candidate Attorney at a firm in Pietermaritzburg and earned a stipend of R2500.00. Life became very difficult as she was not from PMB and also had to pay rent and transport with that little stipend she received. She then realised that she needed to start a small business to supplement her income . She started making “Izicholo” or “Inkehli” which is a traditional hat worn by brides in the Zulu culture . She made her first 3 hats and posted them on all social media platforms. She received a lot of support and her business grew so much that she started receiving international orders. She spent her lunch breaks at work making these hats and she received a lot of support from her Principal/Manager at that time. She then decided to expand the business and started making beads and traditional attires. Although the income she received from the business was now almost 4 x more than her stipend, she did not quit her training and she eventually got admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in 2022. In 2024 she decided to open her own law firm which specialises in Labour and Employment Law, Deceased Estates, Litigation , Debt Collection and Famaily Law.
Lotshiwe Tshabalala Cele (Entertainment)
Lotshiwe is an independent afro jazz and reggae artist based in Pietermaritzburg, Edendale , South Africa. Music to me is everything, I started singing at a very young age at church, school and later joined a female band called Lipstix. She has had the opportunity to play in so may stages including Music in the Hills, Pietermaritzburg food festival, Durban street food festival, Bean Cean Cafe and Sivuka Festival just to name a few. As an artist she has also created platforms for other artists. Lotshiwe has organized and hosted an all- female festival called Four women festival, Tribute to Peter Tosh , Rhythm Reggae Festival and Live n Rule reggae festival. She also been part of a multi award winning TB awareness film called the Lucky Specials alongside Sivenathi Mabuya, Oros Mampofu and Thomas Gumede, which is directed by Rea Rangaka. Her current occupation is in sound and instrument retail. She also do guitar and piano private lessons. Her love for music is indescribable and I believe that music is a tool to spread love, healing and peace to humanity. Lotshiwe’s music is a combination of Zulu reggae with soul and afro jazz ,accompanied by captivating melodies and grooves to keep you on your feet. She is currently working on an EP which is set to be released midyear 2025.
Samantha Davis (Exhibitor)
Samantha creates art with different mediums. She make wall clock’s with with old records. To decorate she uses beading,sand,sticks and grass. Samantha makes earrings using denim Jean’s, beads and other materials, keyrings using wool’s and beading. She also make frames out of recycled materials, sand, grass, glass and bead’s. Samantha is very passionate in what she does, creating beautiful pieces’s out of raw materials. If given a chance, in the near future she would love to teach young kids to create pieces’s and bring out their creativity and also to teach kids how to generate money using their hands and creative minds because some home’s are lacking income. It also teachers them to be young independent entrepreneurs.

Meet miss Lindiwe Bhengu the founder of Lishongololo academy of fashion. Lishongololo is a manufacturing company that is willing to give the best services in and outside the country with the best quality of school uniform. Aside from our core service of sewing school uniform for students.We also intend to offer other services as well such as sewing school athletics and physical education wears, tracksuits,t shirt etc. We even offering a training to those who are interested of learning more about fashion. Our school and factory are both situated in Pietermaritzburg CBD, 210 Langalibalele, Main City Building.
